Earth Performance for solo voice buried in earth in a mouth cavity

In this sound performance the oral cavity is filled up with soil in phases in order to suffocate a sound in seven degrees of volume completely by earth manually. The performer produces the sound of a screaming human voice by herself. The sound gradually disappears into the depths and slides down into the inner body with an increasingly muffled voice until it falls silent.

Without narration,this performance tells in very slow time tempo in gesture and tonal language of the transformation of a repetitive sound of the human voice, a vox humana, which dives down into the darkness of the body’s interior into the shadows. It touches the inside and, acoustically penetrating the material earth, tells the story of the transformation of a Conditio Humana on the planet.

The approximately 4-minute live performance was live streamed to Brazil from the Errant Sound gallery in Berlin on October 14th 2021 and processed into a video loop to be presented at the Berlin gallery during the Sound Art Festival *Topia Brasil – Berlin
